About Nexcell

Why Nexcell Exists

We are not trying to make another disposable clone. We are building a cell game where your name, your stats, your clan, and your history actually matter.

Still early

Nexcell is in beta. Some features are unfinished, some systems will change, and some ideas are still being tested. The foundation is live now, and the community is part of what shapes it next.

Identity

Profiles, stats, rankings, cosmetics, and history that stay attached to your name.

Community

Friends, clans, Discord integration, and systems that help players stay connected.

Polish

A custom browser client focused on smooth play, fast uploads, searchable settings, and better everyday details.

01

The reason

Progress should belong to you.

We fell in love with cell games years ago: Agar.io, Petridish, Senpa, Gota, custom clients, private servers, and new modes. Every game had something special. Some had better movement. Some had better communities. Some had wild modes or custom skins.

But one thing always felt missing. You could join a server, make a name for yourself, win fights, become known, then disappear for a month. When you came back, the server had moved on. Your history was mostly gone. Only the old players remembered what you did.

Nexcell is our attempt to fix that.

02

Community

A name, a profile, a history.

Nexcell is built around identity, progress, and legacy. Instead of being just another random player in a lobby, your profile, stats, rankings, and history follow you.

You can climb the leaderboard, build your name, and keep that legacy visible even years later. Friends, clans, Discord presence, and future social features all point at the same goal: make it easier to stay connected with the people you actually enjoy playing with.

03

Clans

More than matching tags.

Most cell-game clans are just Discord groups with the same tag in their name. That works, but it always felt limited.

Nexcell expands clans into a real in-game system. You can create, manage, and grow your clan directly through the game while still linking it to your own Discord community.

Clan size is limited in-game by design. We want clans to feel meaningful, competitive, and manageable, not like huge lists of random names.

04

Identity

More ways to stand out.

Most games stop at skins. Nexcell goes further with custom aura glow effects, eject animations, skins, and emotes, so your cell can feel personal beyond one image.

Cosmetics are available through Nexcoins, which help support servers and continued development. Uploads are designed to feel fast too, with AI-assisted scanning that can approve most normal uploads in seconds while suspicious uploads can still go to manual review.

05

Details

The client should feel better every time.

A lot of Nexcell comes from things we wished other games had. Sharing a skin or emote should be simple. Settings should be searchable. Hotkeys should be flexible. The client should feel clean, modern, and alive without getting in the way.

We built our own custom client instead of reusing old layouts. The goal is not to look different just for the sake of it. The goal is to make the game feel better to use every time you open it.

06

Foundation

Built from the ground up.

A lot of work has gone into rebuilding the foundation behind Nexcell. We spent a long time rewriting the original Ogar base, building tools to manage game servers, create new modes faster, and support matchmaking across multiple deployments.

The client has also been rewritten many times as the project grew. Every rewrite taught us more and helped us push performance further. Our goal is to make Nexcell one of the smoothest and fastest browser cell games possible.

Chromium-based browsers are currently our main focus. Firefox support matters too, but because it behaves differently under the hood, some visual or performance features may take longer to support there.

Supporting the project

Built to last, funded to keep improving.

Nexcell will offer subscriptions for players who want more customization, more features, and a way to support development. Prices are kept as low as reasonably possible, and higher tiers include a Bring a Buddy feature so a friend or alt can share a lower-tier subscription while yours is active.

Creator support

We also plan to support content creators with free planned subscriptions when they are a good fit for the project.

Your name should mean something.

Spawn in, build your profile, join the community, and help shape the cell game we always wanted to play.
